Ideas that will Help You to Succeed:
As needed, we recommend that part of the stewardship training process include group and individual coaching. VR provides valuable practical ideas and assistance with our client churches and client ministries who have a network of churches they are seeking to help.

Although the Training Kit is designed to be a “do it yourself” resource, it has been our experience that many churches desire personal help to get them started. Therefore, VR offers personal training and coaching for individual churches or groups of churches in select locations. Please contact us to find out the regions covered by VR and our affiliates.

Recommendations:
When you seek to recruit individuals to lead your stewardship ministry, do not immediately ask them to commit to serving on your stewardship ministry leadership team. After explaining your desire for such a ministry and receiving strong recognition and interest from an individual for such a ministry, invite them to commit to just the Training Workshop process. Ask them to wait until after the training to decide whether to serve on the leadership team and in what capacity. In this way, they will be in a much better position to understand what it is all about and what would be expected from them.

Also, it's a good idea to show our 6 ½ minute video to your church leadership team including staff and lay boards. It is imperative that your stewardship ministry leadership team have their full and long-term endorsement and support. In fact, it would be very helpful if some of them could sit through some or all of the initial training sessions.

*Remember this ministry effort should NOT be the responsibility of your senior pastor! However, he or she should be the “cheerleader” for such a ministry.
